The weight of diamonds is expressed in carats where 1 carat = 0.2 grams. One carat is divided into 100 points. In practice the weight of the diamond is measured up to at least two decimals. When the weight is expressed up to tw decimals only, the third decimal is rounded down as long as it is smaller than 9. When the third decimal is 9, the weight is rounded up.
